Bacterial Gold

Although it looks like a Salvadore Dali painting, its a photo of the Beauty Pool Geyser at Yellowstone National Park. Bacteria living in its waters thrive in near-boiling  temperatures, and sulfuric acid . 

 Vulvox has plans to engineeer them to dissolve gold and copper in vat extraction of those ores. Upwards of a billion dollars of gold is processed with mining bacteria and several billion dollars worth of copper is processed every year. About a third of the total amount of those two metals is bioprocessed.


 
Vulvox has a breakthrough method of secreting all types of molecule from all types of eucaryotic cell. Our research program has yielded an experimentally verified sequence of a primer useful for Moloney Murine Leukemia Virus (MoMuLV) reverse transcription studies. We plan to apply for patents on it. Our novel RNA molecules will be useful as nondegradable primers to calibrate real time PCR reactions.

A multi billion dollar segment of the cheese industry doesn't have mold protectants  that  prevent spoilage in the consumer's refrigerator or at the supermarket or in trucks delivering cheese. There is no FDA approved chemical to prevent mold from spoiling cottage cheese. Cottage cheese has a shelf life of two weeks since there are no mold protectants that will stop fungal infections in that product..

Vulvox has been developing a mold protectant that can protect cottage cheese and also other cheeses. They include; American cheese, cheddar cheese, cream cheese, white American cheese, yellow American cheese and other less well known varieties. The American cheese market  has a size of over $15 billion. The European cheese market is about twice that size. Vulvox's mold protection technology will occupy a multi-billion dollar niche market- cottage cheese. Our protectant technology will also replace propionates and sorbates used to protect pasturized process cheeses, cold pack cheese and proceessed cheese foods. It is possible the entire cheese industry will replace inferior mold protectants with  products manufactured by Vulvox.
